On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...

Earlier in September, we took Duke to Ameberglen Park for a picnic. It was nice to be outside, this was actually the day wildfires in Oregon began to soar up more and more after a windstorm, we just hadn't known about the wildfires yet.
As we were heading to our car that was parked on the side of the street, we noticed our tree was damaged by high wind from the night before! The tree lost some branches and the broken branches were blocking the sidewalk. They were too heavy to be lifted just by W and me, so we contacted HOA and they had us fill out an online form to request removal of the branches. After the request was made, we got in the car and visited Amberglen Park for the first time.
It's a shame that we live so close to it, yet hadn't make a visit prior to that day. It's a nice grassy park!

W joked that our picnic = an assembly of leftover food - which was true all around because almost everything we brought, was leftover from before haha. We had chicken fried rice (left over), cut pieces of breakfast burritos (leftover), and tempura vegetables (the only thing made fresh before the picnic).

We had dinner and watched the sunset. We didn't know that was the last time that we could be outside and see the blue sky for a while.

| Duke had some run that evening |

By the time we got home that evening, we were pleasantly surprised that the broken tree branches had been removed! We thought it was gonna take at least a day, not just a couple of hours!
Then a couple of days gone by and as we were waiting indoors for the bad air to clear up, a friend messaged and we agreed to bring out pups out once it's safe to go to the park again.
That was also my first time driving in...a couple of months 👀

| Duke was excited to get in for a ride. He kept licking me while I was waiting for the car to get warmed up 😂 |

W had an appointment that day and it lasted longer than expected. So I took Duke to the park first. Coincidentally, W pulled up right behind us, and our friends pulled up right behind him haha!
Summer was a bit...shy of me 😴
I wanted to pet Summer but he only reluctantly let me pet his tail and ran away whenever I tried to pet his fluffeh head. Duke, on the other head, was constantly begging for attention from our friends and both doggos seemed to have enjoyed the park.
W and I plan on going back again and again, as long as the weather permits & geese don't cover the ground with their poop. 🌲🐕
