Welcome, Baby A.

On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...

[Korea 2018] First time in Korea!

We flew to Seoul with Air Canada for our trip to Korea in 2018.✈ ✈ ✈  2018年的韓國行, 我們坐的是加拿大航空 W was very hesitant on booking with this airline because of his previous experience with the airline that happened a year before the trip to Korea, which involved multiple delays not because of weather and led to missing the subsequent flight and had to sleep in Narita Airport in Japan (in that incident, W ended up having to purchase a last minute standby ticket for another flight with another airline in Narita in order to meet up with me in Hokkaido the next morning, Air Canada did nothing to help). This incident happened in 2017, though even up until now, we sometimes still joke about that experience and say "at least it was Narita" since we both like Narita Airport. Nonetheless, we still ended up booking with Air Canada on its' website for our trip to Korea. This particular experience was alright.  W對於坐加航其實很有保留, 因為之前有過不太好的經驗, 去韓國的一年前曾因為加航的多次非天氣因素的延飛導致錯過後面的班機使他最後在日本的成田機場過夜 (那次的結果...

[Korea 2018] What we did in Korea

W and I went to Korea in the winter of 2018. This post sums up the things we did on this trip. I will share some of the most interesting activities in individual posts and include links to those pages on here 😊. If you see 💟 next to anything below, it means a link is up ! Simply click on that to see more 🎶 We were in Korea for 15 days. It was W's 2nd time visiting Korea, and my 1st time visiting the country! We flew with Air Canada on Nov 28 from Denver (CO) to Vancouver (BC, Canada) then from Vancouver to Incheon Airport. I don't remember how much our airfare was, though I remember it was the 2nd cheapest option. W actually didn't want to fly with Air Canada because he's had bad experience with the airline before...but he agreed to fly with the airline again for better logistics & price (flights with other airlines at the time were either more expensive or had multiple connections with long layovers). Nov 29 💟Arrived Incheon   Took A'rex train to get to Seo...

Lavender plucking at Lavender Valley

Aug 26th, 2020 This August, we went to Lavender Valley and had a fun date which involved lavender plucking. The farm is a bit farther away from where we live, but we still think it's worth to visit at least once.  Mt. Hood is super visible from this farm; this location is probably a nice place to do painting and photo sessions 😏 Before our visit, we checked their website and saw that it said there's an admission fee, so we went with a mindset that there's a fee for entering the farm. Well, after arrived at the farm, we went to the "purple building" / souvenir shop to ask where to pay for said entrance fee and were told there's no such fee. So...okay!  There weren't many visitors during the time we visited, which was good. We wanted to go on a weekday so there'd be least amount of traffic. so we just went on Wednesday, the first day of W's 5-day break from work. We saw maybe 10 visitors total, along with a couple of doggies.    The farm also offere...

New hang out spot - Amberglen Park

Earlier in September, we took Duke to Ameberglen Park for a picnic. It was nice to be outside, this was actually the day wildfires in Oregon began to soar up more and more after a windstorm, we just hadn't known about the wildfires yet.    As we were heading to our car that was parked on the side of the street, we noticed our tree was damaged by high wind from the night before! The tree lost some branches and the broken branches were blocking the sidewalk. They were too heavy to be lifted just by W and me, so we contacted HOA and they had us fill out an online form to request removal of the branches. After the request was made, we got in the car and visited Amberglen Park for the first time. It's a shame that we live so close to it, yet hadn't make a visit prior to that day. It's a nice grassy park! W joked that our picnic = an assembly of leftover food - which was true all around because almost everything we brought, was leftover from before haha. We had chicken frie...
