Welcome, Baby A.

On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...

[Korea 2018] Train to Busan - Haeundae & The Bay 101

On our second day in Busan, we woke up early (8am on vacation is pretty early!) only to find water leaking from the ceiling of our room!!

[Korea 2018] A Weekend in Busan - BIFF Square and Yongdusan Park

We arrived Busan just a little past 3pm on 12/8/2018, which was a Saturday. We went straight to our hotel, finished check-in, dropped off our bags, then back to the subway station. Our goals that night were (1) visit Jagalchi, and (2) have seafood & Korean galbi for dinner because who doesn't like galbi?? Seafood because Busan is known for a thriving seafood industry and Jagalchi is particularly famous for fresh seafood. Getting to Jagalchi from our hotel was pretty easy by subway. Our main objectives for Jagalchi that night were to explore the surrounding area and visit BIFF Square. Jagalchi Market, a seafood market, is a very popular tourist destination for dining, walking tour, and cultural tour etc. The market is known for "buy live seafood from various vendors on the first floor, then head upstairs where vendors will have someone to cook you have bought." Fees seem to vary. I've read some had complimentary cooking while some had to pay extra for food preparat...

[Korea 2018] Train to Busan

12/8/2018. We took a train to Busan from Seoul Station. At the time this was the second day I was off from the prescriptions (antibiotics etc) and was feeling a lot better than before. I was excited to go check out another city of Korea. W was also excited to ride KTX (high speed rail).

[Korea 2018] Nose sculpting in Seoul...

The day after I turned 32, I got a nose sculpture procedure done in Seoul, Korea. I became interested in checking out beauty clinics just weeks before going to Korea. Read about other people's experiences with injections (good and bad results, there are so many). I decided to try nose sculpture, and was firm on no surgery.

[Korea 2018] Day tour to The Garden of Morning Calm & Nami Island from Seoul

12/1/2018. We woke up very early on the second day upon meeting up with inlaws. This was a day both interesting and frustrating for me.

TTC 1, 2, 3 / 備孕一二三

4/12/2021 UPDATE: WE ARE PREGNANT!! Found out on April 11 (yesterday) with a home pregnancy test. Our first appointment is on April 19th. This will be a virtual appointment due to COVID precautions...I still have a bit of a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of my first prenatal care being a video call...how can we track the progress just by a video call, without bloodworks and ultrasound? The second appointment (finally will be in-person) is on May 17th, and a follow-up (virtual again) on June 17th. I'll share more about yesterday and our experience with this TTC this last cycle in another post. Right now we're both so excited. Also need to make some adjustments to our travel plan for the summer! We were gonna have a road trip in Iceland in June to complete the ring road, hike on the glacier, sleep in a campervan, and dip in many hot springs along the way!

We bought a robot vacuum! 買了一台機器人吸塵器!

One of the things we bought during this last Thanksgiving season (it's already "last year!"), also the biggest ticket, was Roomba i8+! We got it from Costco for the price seen in the picture below. We picked it up at the store, which was actually unintentional! We had placed Roomba in the shopping cart on Costco.com but couldn't finish the check-out process the minute the sale began. It was odd. We tried everything we could think of like log off then log in again, empty the shopping cart then put Roomba back into the cart again, but none worked. The price on the product page was reflecting the special sale price but that final page for check out showed the wrong price. Customer service was down at the time because it was past midnight, so we decided we'd just go with our luck at the store the next morning!
