Welcome, Baby A.

On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...

Thanks to Delta

Thanks to Delta, for whatever reason they had (most likely overbooked), we got free upgrade to business class for CDG->SEA! It was our first time flying business class and trust me - it was niiiice!

The 10 hours of lying in that "message bed" definitely was something much needed especially I had just gotten food poisoning the day before flying. Okay, maybe I did not lie down for all 10 hours, but 9 hours for sure.

Service was great. Dan, our personal server (not really our personal personal server as he also served 8 others), was fast in filling up our glasses and taking trash away.

So how were the food and drinks for business class? They were gooood. I wouldn't say they were excellent or the best food I have ever had, but they were good. Endless champagne, red wine, white wine, beer, "premium juice," tea, whatever you want, from pre-departure to just half an hour before landing. Because of my crazy diarrhea (from food poisoning) and the scared-to-death thought of puking while being 30,000 ft above ground, I didn't eat much and only drank bottles of water and "premium orange juice." The premium orange juice, that was no joke, it had pulp and tasted fresh! Mr. L and I ordered different things just to see how they are and I did try a bit of each. Just a tiny bit, like one or two bites of each main course, sides, and desserts. Mr. L had all and "many glasses of wine" as he recalls. Good for him. He got the most out of our $1241.50 x2 worth of plane tickets.

Wish there's a day that all economy chairs were message chairs too!

Here's the menu

And here are the food!

Roasted Chicken

 Grilled Beef Tenderloin

Chocolate Tart

Ice Cream Sundae & Egyptian Chamomile Tea

I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of the one thing I did finish! The soup! The soup was surprisingly delicious and non-greasy, went down nice & smooth and didn't make me want to puke! (seriously! all the other food I've had that day and the day before either gave me an instant wan-to-puke feel or made me run to the toilet 10 minutes later)

Pre-arrival Meal - I'd say this was way too big for breakfast....
Hot Chicken Parmeson Sandwich

Let's take a closer look at this giant sandwich...unfortunately this one I didn't dare try to take more than one bite. I was a bit in fear of the cheese and the greasy looking chicken (didn't taste as greasy as it looked though). Why did I get this then? The shrimp salad wasn't available and seafood was probably a worst bet than chicken for my diarrhea.

Okay, so the food wasn't unbelievably amazing to-die-for, but it was definitely better than the regular chicken pasta I've had while flying with economy class. Would I choose these food again? Yes. Would I pay for business class to eat them? No.

Last, I just want to say - something small like a heat pad / thermo pad makes a long distance trip even better :)

About 9 euros, came with five of these individual thermo pads.

The End :)
