On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...
So for this year's anniversary, Hubby and I celebrated it by going to a Taylor Swift Concert on May 25th. Ms. Swift has always been one of the few people that I wanted to go to a concert for. I have listened to her songs from way back in high school. I sang her songs while going through heartbreaks. Her songs were featured at our wedding. Admittedly, I do sometimes find her older songs more enjoyable, aka country, but I also find some of her newer songs too catchy I just couldn't forget. All in all, it's always been something I wanted to do and Hubby made it happen this year 💓
A friend also joined us on the drive down to the Reputation Stadium Tour in Denver. Concert began at around 7pm, if I remember it right. Hubby and friend got off work early and met up at our place at around 3:30pm. Then we drove down to Denver and had good ramen for dinner. Then parked just across the street from Elitch Gardens (a theme park) and walked alongside waves and waves of Swift fans to the stadium. The 15 minute walk wasn't bad and it was easy to find our way to get to the stadium. I mean, there were people everywhere and lots of people carried Tay Tay souvenirs. When we got to the front of the stadium, of course, even more people were there lining up for security checks. We then found out that our backpacks weren't allowed inside the stadium. All bags had to be under a certain size. The security guards were using a piece of cardboard as a measurement for checking if the bag was "too big" to enter the stadium. Same for ladies' handbags. One exception to the "cardboard" rule was that only a clear hand bag of any normal handbag size could be carried inside. The backpack I had wasn't big. My laptop can't fit in it, not even a water bottle. However, it was still too big for the stadium. Our friend's bag was also too big. One option was to store them at an onsite locker which didn't seem like any could've been available based on how long the line for the lockers looked. So we all walked back to the car to drop our bags off and then walked back to the stadium again!
By the time we got back to the front of the stadium (for the second time), it was significantly more crowded and the sky got darker. The lines for the security were very, very long. We got to our reserved seats at around 8:30pm. At that time, Camila Cabello was performing on the stage.
The opening was great! I mean, the entire performance was awesome! She sang some old songs and some new songs. I mean, I felt like I was listening to the greatest hits from all of her albums in 2 hours. And then there were some really old songs, like - Teardrops on My Guitar, Love Story, and You Belong with Me. I was sooooo happy she performed those because I really love those!
Our seats were in a restricted access area (on the ground) but not anywhere close to the VIP section. The "restricted access area" required a yellow tag that reads "reputation stadium tour." Like seen in this picture.
Our tickets were $200 each (whew, Tay Tay's concert isn't cheap but we all found it to be worth it 💙). The most memorable moments were when she came on stage (during the opening), and when she "flew" to us, and when she literally sang and danced right in front of us!
Here are some photos I took at the concert. We had so much fun there! In fact, Hubby and I agreed that we would go to another Taylor Swift concert if she comes to Colorado again :) Hehehehehe!
