On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Hello, hello! And oh we moved! 搬家了!
Hubby found his dream job, so we moved from Colorado to Oregon in March 😺! Beibei, Lulu, and Duke flew with us on the same flight after our original flight got canceled due to a "cyclone bomb" storm which trapped us inside our CO home for days...
It was a tiring move, but we're glad to be here. Our new home sits in a newer neighborhood in Beaverton, Oregon. A lot more sunshine, a lot more rain, and people here say the city "stops" even if only 1/2 an inch of snow is spotted...so I guess we won't see much flurry whites here.
Here's a rundown of things that have happened relating to the move!
- Jan 7th - Jan 25th: Mr. L had phone interviews, onsite interview, accepted the offer, and the house hunt began
- Feb 6th - Feb 9th: We flew to Portland and placed an offer on our home, and went into contract!
- Feb 11th - Feb 28th: I was in Asia and W worked on minor home improvement projects to prepare for selling our home in CO
- Mar 11th - Mar 12th: Professional movers packed and shipped our furniture/loads of crap. Cars got shipped as well. Oregon home closed on Mar 12th and we were going to fly to Oregon on Mar 13th (but then this storm came and shut us down..)!
- Mar 15th: Our cars arrived in Oregon, but we were still trapped in Colorado haha!
- Mar 16th: Finally arrived Oregon with kitties and pooch! Received a very warm welcome from friends at the door of our new home 😆
- Mar 21st - all of April: Everything arrived and the seemingly endless unpack process began (sooo many boxes)
- May 7th: Our home in CO closes. Yep, that's today! Hope the new owners will treat our old home with lots of love like we have 💓
