On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...
Ouch, so I burned my fingers on Friday while walking Duke. Then on the following day, I burned my hand, again, by accidentally touching a pan that was still hot with fire burning underneath it. I quickly ran to the sink and ran cold water over my poor hand, then put on some aloe burn relief gel on it to help calming the skin. It stung on that first day but hasn't bothered me since.
This morning I woke up seeing my hand peeling like an onion...at first it creeped me out but then I realize it's mostly just dried aloe on my skin. There's no blister and no patchy part, just the aloe fooling my brain 😆 How I got this burn is actually....my own stupidity. I was frying eggs while holding the spatula in an unusual way because my fingers had just gotten burnt from the leash incident. My hand accidentally "kissed" the hot pan while I was trying to flip an egg....
Even though this isn't close to any serious burn, Mr. L is on dish/cooking duty this week so it's less likely that the hand would receive more trauma 😈 It does get a bit itchy sometimes, especially when I'm outside (e.g., walking Duke, watering plants). I can definitely see a burnt mark and am glad I didn't touch the pan at where the company marking is (so there's no "pattern" or like a company initial/trademark on my skin). May this hand have speedy recovery.
