Welcome, Baby A.

On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...

[Korea 2018] Spicy Chicken & Seafood @ Yoogane Myeongdong

For our very first dinner in Korea, we went to a table-grill restaurant "Yoogane" in Myeongdong. We actually walked past it a few times while still looking around for different options, then we picked this restaurant. I remember while looking at their menu just outside of the restaurant, we saw many people speaking in Korean heading in and out of the restaurant which led us thinking "oh maybe it's a place enjoyed by locals! Let's give it a shot!"

Their menu was multi-lingual, which was convenient for non-Korean speakers! It's got Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese plus pictures for most items.

There was also this "side dishes bar" and a "fruit bar" for customers to help themselves.

The verdict is we liked what we had, which was "marinated chicken galbi & assorted seafood!" It was so spicy! It had a lot more heat than what we were used to! But it was a good kind of spiciness!

The restaurant was very busy (around 8 at night) and there was only one server bussing tables for the entire basement (we dined at their basement floor, there were more servers for the first floor dining area). We were fine with cooking our own food at our table (just stir fry stuff! and I think that's what customers are expected to do at table-grilling places anyway plus it's easier to adjust for preferences) though the server did come check on our fire & food for us every once a while.

I also tried an alcoholic beverage here - plum flavored - I remember I was mainly attracted by the look of the pink bottle and curious how it would taste like. It was a small bottle and the waitress gave us 2 shot glasses. The bottle was barely enough for 3 glasses. I'm guessing it was some kind of soju? Can't find the picture now 😕
