On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...

Happy Thanksgiving! Wow, it's already this time of the year! 2020 has brought ups and downs for us, but overall it's a good year for us. We're grateful for being healthy and no job loss despite the pandemic much of this country (and many other parts of the world) is experiencing. With the US being the #1 country in reported cases and deaths, it's almost always saddening to check the news because everyday we see and hear more about stories surrounding COVID-19. Over the years, we haven't had Thanksgiving dinner on actual Thanksgiving Day because Black Friday shopping usually began around dinner time on Thanksgiving Day so we had "Thanksgiving lunch" or "Thanksgiving Eve's dinner" instead. I think the last time we had our Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day was in 2009...? (if my memory is correct then oh man that's been way more than a decade! Back then our Black Friday shopping began around midnight on Thanksgiving Day and lasted through 6-7am on Friday)
This year we had our Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day! We made 10 dishes (well, 9 "dishes" plus gravy 😁). Preparations began the night before. On Wednesday, W made his awesome French Onion Soup and I made my first-ever Pecan Pie! On Thursday, I woke up at 7 (to my huge surprise since I've been sleeping in A LOT lately) and began kitchen cleaning and more prepping. We began cooking at 11:30 and got everything to the table by 6pm.

| We started celebrating Thanksgiving by have brunch from McDonald's 😆 Also watched old seasons of Survivor while cooking. It's been so long since I last saw an episode of Survivor and we binged two whole seasons in the last 48 hours 😁 |

| This beautiful set of plates is a X'mas present from our friends Neha & Vikas last year. I finally took them out of the original package and used them for the first time for Turkey day! |

There's something about being inside a home with an aroma of fresh baked goods and homemade food. I also just love seeing our table being filled with food 💛 We started planning out the menu two weeks ago, ordered everything that we needed online and did curbside pickup & Fresh delivery with Prime (except the single-use baking pan for the turkey which we picked up in-store at a local Albertson's store). Ordered based on price & availability. I wanted a small turkey (ordered for 8 -12lbs) but got an email just before pickup that said they were out so...a 20lbs turkey came instead!! 20lbs! We're gonna be eating turkey for at least a week. Altogether, around $45 of ingredients total for this big meal 👩👨 We cooked with a mindset that we won't be cooking again for the remainder of the week 😄😄😄

W picked an inner part of turkey meat that was cooked, unseasoned, and I shredded them for three little furry ones so they got to be a part of this special dinner too. They finished theirs in a jiffy!
