Welcome, Baby A.

  On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...

Week 3 - 1/4 through!

Took another 10 pills from Ryan. Each time I go in, I tell myself to swallow those pills like they're just vitamins, but ewwww, they taste gross - very very bitter. 9 more weeks left. I can do this!

Dinner-
Lemon chicken with rice and steamed vegetables (carrots, green beans, peas, and corn). Two homemade spring rolls (carrots, celery, cilantro, egg, and baked chicken). Apple juice.


Snack-

Weight: 172.6

Exercise: none

Side effect: shooting pain in my left elbow and wrist while driving to Health Dept (so this happened before I took the meds). It lasted about 4 or 5 seconds but it was very uncomfortable as an addition to my already discomforting cramps. Luckily, that was the only time of the day I felt any pain other than cramps.

Side note: woke up at noon, didn't feel like eating then, but by the time I felt hungry I couldn't eat because it was too close to the time I needed to leave the house to take the pills.

Rice ball filled with pork strips (some soy sauce and minced garlic), onions, scrambled egg, and green onions. Flavored water.

Side effect: red-orange pee. Sore feeling in my left leg, no idea why.

6 lettuce wraps (romaine lettuce, stir fry chicken with British cucumbers and celery, seasoned with powdered white pepper with salt and black pepper, and some leaf oregano)
5 sesame-paste-filled sticky rice ball dessert


Snack-
5 baked chicken nuggets with McDonald's sweet and sour sauce

Side effect: sore feeling in my left leg/thigh continues...I'm beginning to suspect that this sore feeling may have come from my recent consumption of soy sauce...?

Side note: I know I have been putting "none" next to exercise...once this period is over, I'll do it.

Side effect: shooting pain in my left ankle in the evening. about 5 seconds. ouch.

Lemon herb roasted chicken from Cheesecake Factory (side dish was steamed carrots, and mashed red potatoes). VERY delicious.
