Welcome, Baby A.

On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...

Space dome for astronaut kitty

It has been a dream of mine to bring Beibei, Lulu, and Duke out on walks together. We were gifted with a pet stroller but it's not big enough for both Beibei and Lulu to fit in. Beibei loves the stroller and almost always runs to it when she sees us putting a harness on Duke before heading out - it's her way of saying she wanna join us. Lulu has a harness but she doesn't enjoy walking in it. Meanwhile, I saw too many backpack carriers videos/pictures on Instagram and began researching one for Lulu. 😺 In the end, I got one from Amazon. It was well packaged and easy to get set up.

I have to say - Lulu looks like an astronaut kitty when she takes a peek from the dome 😂
While still searching for a backpack carrier, aside from having to have many holes for ventilation, there were two features I looked for specifically. One was that it had to be expandable because I knew both Lulu and Beibei enjoy spacious carriers. The other was a side entrance for easy access. This model has both and the color is just lovely!
As soon as I had it set up, I put a treat inside the carrier and Lulu went in soon afterward. She chilled in there for about an hour before coming out again.
The carrier also came with 2 changeable "domes." Reviewers mentioned they could bring the carrier to planes (in-cabin!) and as soon as I got the carrier, I could see why. In addition to the two "curved windows," there's also a flat panel which, once assembled, allows the backpack to easily slide under a chair, desk etc.

Also, when I placed the order, I had read that the "flower dome" (the one with more holes) was extra and I didn't add it to my order. However, the company still shipped it to me. Not sure why, but I'm not complaining 😍
So far we've only had our "family walks" in our neighborhood. The plan is to bring them to nearby parks together on the weekends. I want to eventually try to bring Lulu with us to trails. Beibei is turning 16 this month and I'm not very sure if she would want to go on hour-long trails with us, though she definitely enjoys being inside the stroller while soaking up the sun when we're just walking at a park or in the neighborhood. All in all, I'm just glad now we can all go on walks together!
