On Baby A's birthday, the c-section surgery went as planned. I walked into the OR around 9:30am and was pushed out around 2 hours later. W was instructed to wait outside while the team was getting me prepared for anesthesia. He then got invited to come in and sat next to me while the team worked on getting Baby A out of me 😂. W was a good DJ and Baby A was born while Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was being played. So...did I feel any pain during this life-changing surgery? No, I didn't. I had a spinal block. I never felt any type of pain during the surgery. Getting the anesthesia injected - however - was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. There was a lot of pressure. I felt my back being pulled or pushed, or something. It just felt very uncomfortable, not painful, but very uncomfortable. It was also hard to try leaning toward the source of that uncomfortableness. Learning to relax while being uncomfortable was a very hard thing to do. But it was necessary. Once it...

On March 1st, we went back to Kaiser Sunset for the long-awaited scan - anatomy scan! Baby was very stubborn on not wanting to leave those "feet alone." Baby kept holding onto the feet so it was hard to get good views of the hands and feet. All organs got checked out and everything looked great! We learned baby's femur was measured about 2 weeks ahead (86th percentile) - meaning at 19 weeks, the femur length was about the size of around 21 weeks. It was very cool to see baby's heart beating on a close-up scale. Also saw the spine and all of those tiny joints.

When we walked into the exam room, the sonographer asked if we knew the gender already. We said no, and told her we'd like to keep it a surprise and handed her an envelope and a sticky note for her to write down the baby's sex. We watched the screen as she started taking pictures of different organs and explaining what we were looking at. When it was time to get a closer look at the bladder and baby's lower parts, she told us to look away and we did 😆 The whole appointment lasted just a little more than an hour. At the end of the appointment, the sonographer wrote down the sex of the baby on the sticky note we gave out earlier and sealed it inside the envelope. We then went straight to Buy Buy Baby to pick up the free goody bag. We also tried out THE DIAPER BAG that I've been drooling over! We plan on getting it from Amazon because it's cheaper there 😂

After Buy Buy Baby and Carter's, we went to Target for their welcome kit. Unfortunately, the store was out of stock that day. The lady at the registry desk told us it's best to check back on the weekend as they stock on Friday night. So....we grabbed a pink drink (frappucino style) from Starbucks instead 😃 It was yummy!

Same week, I came across a Skip Hop activity table on Facebook Marketplace for 1/3 of its retail price on Amazon. So I contacted the seller, and we drove to her house to pick it up! This was my first time ever using Facebook Marketplace. Good experience, good buy, and a happy customer 😎 It felt a bit odd tho, when the seller saw me in person and realized baby's not born yet, and she made a comment like "oh you don't really need this until the baby's like 4 or 5 months old, you're getting this so early!!!" I get it, the comment is harmless. But in my head, I was thinking "uh, that's not really any of your business...."😑
